We started Vanish because we were tired of seeing perfectly good furniture end up in landfill — and tired of watching our neighbours struggle with overpriced skip bins.
Born in the Northern Rivers
We kept seeing the same thing: perfectly good couches dumped on the roadside near Brunswick Heads. Usable timber rotting in skip bins outside Bangalow renovations. Furniture that could have gone to someone in need, heading straight to landfill.
As locals who grew up surfing at Main Beach, hiking the hinterland trails behind Mullumbimby, and shopping at the Bangalow Markets, we care deeply about protecting this place. That's why we built a rubbish removal service with sustainability at its core — right here in Tyagarah, Byron Shire.
Every single load we collect is hand-sorted. Usable items go to St Vinnies and the Salvos. Timber, metal, and plastics go to certified Northern Rivers recyclers. Green waste is composted locally. Our promise is simple: we keep as much as possible out of landfill while making your life easier.

Sustainability Is Not a Buzzword — It's How We Operate
Every item we collect is hand-sorted at our Tyagarah facility. We separate metal, timber, plastics, green waste, and e-waste into dedicated streams. Usable furniture goes to St Vinnies in Byron Bay and the Salvos in Ballina. Green waste is composted into mulch for Northern Rivers gardens. Electronics go to certified e-waste processors.
We are working towards a 90% diversion rate by 2027. We believe that rubbish removal should be part of the solution, not part of the problem. When you choose Vanish, you are choosing a service that treats the Northern Rivers environment with the respect it deserves.
